1938 EMPIRE GAMES

Built in 1936, just after the completion of the Harbour Bridge, it was originally known as The Wonder Pool and hosted the swimming and diving events for the 1938 Empire Games. Hidden down a small stairway from Clark Park, this is one of Sydney’s best kept secrets. Climb a few stone steps, and discover this magical public garden. Stay awhile and enjoy the lush, tranquil surrounds, some 20 years in the making.
